What materials are used for stackable barrels?

The most common material is HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) because of its high impact strength, chemical resistance, and “stiffness,” which allows the bottom barrel to support the weight of several full barrels stacked above it. PP (Polypropylene) is also used for products requiring higher heat resistance.

Can these machines produce multi-layer barrels?

Yes. Blow molding machines use Co-extrusion (3 to 6 layers). This allows a middle layer of recycled plastic (PCR) to be sandwiched between layers of virgin plastic, reducing costs while maintaining the barrel’s strength and chemical safety.

How is the “stacking feature” molded accurately?
