How to Improve the Quality of Blow Molding Products?
1. Optimize Raw Material Selection
Raw materials are a fundamental factor affecting the quality of blow molded parts. High-purity resins with uniform molecular weight distribution are preferred to ensure excellent melt strength and flow properties to meet blow molding process requirements. For example, materials such as HDPE and PP must be carefully screened based on the intended use (e.g., food packaging, industrial containers) to avoid impurities or degradation products that could cause defects such as bubbles. Antioxidants or UV stabilizers can be added if necessary to enhance material stability.

2. Precisely Control Process Parameters
Temperature Control: Optimize the barrel, die head, and mold temperatures to avoid excessive melt temperatures (which could lead to material degradation) or excessive melt temperatures (which could affect plasticization).
Pressure and Blow Time: Optimize blow pressure, hold time, and cooling rate to ensure uniform expansion and a perfect fit within the mold, minimizing uneven wall thickness or deformation.
Parison Control: The blow molding machine utilizes a servo system to precisely adjust parison length and droop speed, improving repeatability.
3. Mold Design and Maintenance
Runner and Vent Design: Optimize the runner structure to minimize weld marks and strategically place vents to prevent air entrapment. Cooling System: Use conformal cooling channels or high-thermal-conductivity mold materials (such as beryllium copper alloy) to shorten cooling time and reduce thermal stress and deformation.
Regular Maintenance: Clean the mold cavity surface, inspect for wear and corrosion, and polish or replace key components promptly.
4. Introducing Automated Inspection Technology
Visual Inspection System: Deploy high-resolution cameras to capture surface defects (such as black spots and scratches), combine them with AI algorithms to classify defects, and automatically reject defective products.
Sensor Integration: Utilize infrared temperature and pressure sensors to provide feedback on process data, dynamically adjust parameters to prevent defects.
5. Strengthen Operator Training and Management
Standardized Operational Procedures: Develop detailed process cards and blow molding machine operating instructions, clearly defining key parameter ranges and emergency response procedures.
Skills Training: Conduct regular training on plastic blow molding machine operation, quality assessment, and maintenance to strengthen quality awareness.
